Scenes from the WSOP: $5,000 Omaha hi-lo

Posted by Thomas Baker in World Series of Poker on July 6, 2006

The tournament action is really kicking here at the Rio. Phil Hellmuth is fighting for his 10th bracelet on the TV table (ESPN brought in the junior-varsity squad to chronicle it all, David Williams is the chip leader in the 7-stud event (which is down to three tables), and lots of big-name pros are just getting started in the $5k Omaha hi-lo event. Have a look:

TOC champion Mike Sexton (right) is unable to see that Layne Flack may be giving off a tell.

Over on table #24, you’ve got two very aggressive players in Sam Farha and Gus Hansen.

Seated to their left is Mike O’Malley … really, a great place for him to be, even though it’s keeping him out of almost every hand.

Gus Hansen: “Ooh, yeah, right there. That’s the spot.”
