Re: Read all about it

Posted by Thomas Baker in World Series of Poker on July 3, 2006

Hi PartyPoker players. My name is Dan, and I’ll be bringing you coverage of the 2006 WSOP. Starting today, and running until the end of the tournament on August 11. We’ll be reporting from the Rio.

The event is already underway – as you walk into the World Series at the Rio Convention Center, there’s a big plasma flat screen showing the number of registered players, which currently stands at 2,545. This means bucks, big bucks – so far there is more than $25 million in the prize pool.

Make no mistake, the 2006 WSOP is an eye-poppingly huge, a mouth-wateringly gigantic poker event…with tens of thousands of players, millions of poker hands, and in the end, probably close to a quarter-billion dollars in prize money will be paid out.

We’ll let you know more as things develop and the numbers take shape … so stay tuned. In the meantime, it’s good to be here — at the World Series and blogging about it for so many PartyPoker.com players out there to whom this event really means something.
