We have just announced that Antanas Guoga, also known as Tony G, has signed a deal to be part of the Team Party. This is Tony G’s first PartyPoker blog post…
It is fantastic to be writing for you for the first time here on the PartyPoker blog. It is with great pleasure to announce that I have joined Team Party. I am very happy, this is something I have been trying to achieve for a very long time. I have been working with Party since day one as a big affiliate and it made sense to take this partnership further. I have played in Party events from day one and am so pleased to now be onboard. I want to help them become number one again!
I will always remember playing in Party’s Intercontinental Poker Championship in 2006. I got a bit out of line but I always insist that in the case of Ralph Perry he was waiting for someone to carry him out! I’ve also had many memorable and profitable trips to the Poker Den and enjoyed playing the European and World Opens.
The daddy of them all to me though is the Premier League and I am focused and ready for the challenge in Vegas in February. The line-up announced so far is fantastic and I am particularly looking forward to busting up Hellmuth again. Is Luke Schwartz the new Devilfish? He’s rude, obnoxious and I cannot wait to bust him up. This kid is not the kind of player you feel you can learn from – you just want to bust him.
After coming second and third in the Premier League in the last two years I am so determined to take it down this time. Despite my new deal with Party, I know that if I fail this time it could be the last time I enter such a prestigious tournament. I want to perform really well, win it and guarantee my entrance for 2011. Nobody can claim they are really safe with their Premier League status unless they win it! Coming second again doesn’t mean anything, people don’t remember losers.
It is great to join the team and I was pleased to see the recent news about Kara Scott. Kara is great and truly a lovely person. Hopefully she is open minded! I also love Mike Sexton – to me he is the grandfather of online poker. Mike helped power PartyPoker and deserves his place in the Hall of Fame. He’s a huge asset to Party and I am looking forward to learning from him – he has so much wisdom and is poker’s ambassador.
I’ve already been prowling the $250/$500 limit cash game tables on Party but I intend to play in both tournaments and cash games at all different levels. I currently have my eyes on the $2/$4 cash tables. I’m looking forward to you playing with me – my screen name is ‘TonyG’ – accept no imitations baby!
It is particularly special to be making my Party debut at the Aussie Millions and in the $100k event. Melbourne is one of the best cities in the world, it is full of friends, fans and family and is like a second home. Historically, I haven’t run good in the Aussie Millions, there isn’t any really great memories for me but this year I hope that is all going to change! The large fields and amazing poker room make this a tournament not to be missed. I will be bringing a bike with me to the Crown – plenty of people are going to be riding it when I say bye, bye to them! If one of Party’s 43 online qualifiers busts me I will get on the bike and then give it to them!
Stewart Scott has a big job this year – he’s a good lad and typical Aussie guy. He’ll need a miracle to become the first player in history to retain their Aussie Millions title. I’ll take a wager on him about that – I think my money will be safe! Stewart is an all round nice guy though and I will be happy to pay out if he were to make history!
Tony G is not only blogging. He is also playing at PartyPoker tables under the screen name ‘TonyG’. He has already caused plenty of debate with his presence at the $250/$500 limit cash game tables. See him there.
